first week down!

So after my first week of working full time I can say that I am pooped! Although I didn't do as much this week as I will be in the future, it was still exhausting. I like my job though, and actually enjoy it versus jobs that I've had in the past. My only complaint is that I miss my little boy so much during the day, and I have no way to check on him (his teacher did call me during the day to give me reports, which was nice).

I can say though, that there has already been a definite improvement in him, and I am ecstatic! Usually he is terrified of people that he doesn't know, especially men, but last night at dinner, he loved our waiter! He high-fived and waved to him the entire time we were there, it was great. He's also been way more interested in sitting and reading with me, and all of a sudden he is an expert at puzzles.

(he was doing puzzles one evening while I made dinner, it was so cute^ xena was was even hanging out)

I have to give a giant thank you to Mike, because without him, this first week would have been hell. He's helped me everyday without any complaints, from Logan waking up every morning before the alarms go off, to helping me cope with leaving him crying at daycare in the morning. He's also bathed him every night, and put him to bed while I lay in bed and pass out almost instantly. Thank you babe, you seriously are amazing!!!

It feels really good to say that I have a job, and I'm feeling really lucky right now.

sibling day!

since today is national sibling day, I figured what better way to acknowledge it then to look at some old pictures! I know I don't tell my brothers and sister that I love them often enough, and I should probably get in a better habit of doing it.. but they should know that they can always let me know if they need anything at all, and I'd be there, no questions asked.... ok, maybe a few questions, and possibly some teasing, but that's what big sisters are for!

One day, I'll get a picture with my sister, but until then, these are a few of my favorites, and yes, they are pictures of pictures (hope that makes sense).

Gosh, I was a cute kid... hahah just kidding!

P.S. Logan seriously looks just like my brother Tyler.. I wish I had a better picture to compare, but I hope I am not the only one who see's the resemblance.

here we go

Tomorrow I start my new job, and Logan starts his new daycare/school. As excited as I am about getting the chance to work and make some spending money, it stinks that I won't see my baby boy all day, every day like I am used to. Even though I was in school a few semesters, it isn't the same, because it won't just be a few hours every other day, and he won't be with people that I know personally. This is a whole new experience! I am going to miss him so much!

I have to keep reminding myself that this will be good for both of us, and that he is going to be in good hands. He'll get the chance to learn all kinds of cool things, and make some friends. Not to mention that the school we picked for him seems pretty awesome. I just really hope that he enjoys himself once he gets over me not being with him.

So when it set in that I was going to be away from him 40+ hours a week, I started looking through all the pictures I have of him, and it makes me so happy that I did have the chance to be there for all of his firsts, and boy did we have some good times.

(he was so tiny, it blows my mind!)

I can't even count how many hours we spent laying in bed, acting like goobers. Some of my favorite memories with him!

I know we will have more good times, and I know that this really will benefit us all. So here's to a new chapter! Wish us luck haha!

then and now

we made our way out to the bluebonnet patch near our house the other day, and man, it was packed! There were also a ton of bees everywhere, which I do not remember dealing with last year.. I hate bees! We managed to run around through the bluebonnets and not get stung, so I guess it really wasn't that bad. I love this time of year (minus the bugs) because the weather is awesome, and I don't mind running around outside with Logan. Daddy joined in too, so that was nice!

last year when we visited the bluebonnet patch, Logan was only 4 months old, and couldn't even sit up yet. Now, he almost a year and a half, and I can't even name everything he can do!

I hope that we all get to go to the bluebonnets every year, it really is pretty to see in person.

easter part 2

So, Easter morning, we woke up, had some donuts, and let Logan go through his basket. This year, I didn't put any candy in his basket because I already have enough trouble getting him to eat decent, thanks grandpa! But, we got him some pretty cool stuff. He seemed to think it was a good haul because he kept whispering "wowwww" which is one of his new favorite words. -Side note, he also keeps pointing at his diaper and telling me "pa pa" and ends up actually using the potty like a big boy. So exciting!

After we went to our friends house, we went to visit GiGi and Doug, where Logan got more toys.. his favorite being the bubble gun that I have come to despise in the last couple of days .

We put the Easter bubble bath bubbles to good use and actually ate dinner at the table, which never happens. I'd say it was a pretty good day all together.

easter part 1

Sorry I have been missing the past week.. my son has been the crankiest kid on earth, and I have yet to figure out why. I hope it ends soon though, I am exhausted!

Anyways, our Easter was awesome! The only thing that I wish we had made it to was church.. but there was no way I could have been up and ready for the early service. I figured watching it online would have to work. Besides Logan's constant fussing, the day was pretty good for us.

(there's proof that Logan was fussy^)

Logan missed doing the Easter egg hunt due to napping, but I enjoyed watching the other kids run around, hunting all the eggs, and I know Mike had fun hiding the eggs, although I'm sure he would have preferred to hide them harder. After, the kids decided to dip their feet in the pool, which we should have realized that they were going to end up all the way end. All I can say is that those kids are BRAVE! The water was freezing.

Thank you to my amazing friends for being so thoughtful, and saving eggs so that we could let him do and egg search after his nap. He was determined to open every single egg before they went in the basket, so it took us awhile. Probably a good thing he didn't hunt with the kids, he would have ended up with like 2 eggs.

(I'm pretty sure we all felt like this at the end of the day^)

I am so blessed, and I kept in mind all day the true reason we celebrated. I hope everyone else did too.

"Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him."
Mark 16:6

the big four!

Sierra turned four today, and I can't believe it! Seems like yesterday, she was Logan's age, and I was watching her and Mike play in the front yard. Now, she's a big girl, and I feel old! I'm so lucky to have met Michelle, and really can't say how blessed me and my family are that they include us as if we are actually related. I love them so much!

(there was a lot of this from Logan^)

(there was some serious pinata hitting going on^)

(I cannot get over Ryker's chunky legs^)

(and a lot of confetti eggs^)

at the end of the day, these two cuddled up on my lap, and we all watched the hobbit. The party must have been pretty exhausting, because not only did Logan, and Sierra pass out on the couch, but Mike did too. No party like a four year old party!
