then and now

we made our way out to the bluebonnet patch near our house the other day, and man, it was packed! There were also a ton of bees everywhere, which I do not remember dealing with last year.. I hate bees! We managed to run around through the bluebonnets and not get stung, so I guess it really wasn't that bad. I love this time of year (minus the bugs) because the weather is awesome, and I don't mind running around outside with Logan. Daddy joined in too, so that was nice!

last year when we visited the bluebonnet patch, Logan was only 4 months old, and couldn't even sit up yet. Now, he almost a year and a half, and I can't even name everything he can do!

I hope that we all get to go to the bluebonnets every year, it really is pretty to see in person.

easter part 2

So, Easter morning, we woke up, had some donuts, and let Logan go through his basket. This year, I didn't put any candy in his basket because I already have enough trouble getting him to eat decent, thanks grandpa! But, we got him some pretty cool stuff. He seemed to think it was a good haul because he kept whispering "wowwww" which is one of his new favorite words. -Side note, he also keeps pointing at his diaper and telling me "pa pa" and ends up actually using the potty like a big boy. So exciting!

After we went to our friends house, we went to visit GiGi and Doug, where Logan got more toys.. his favorite being the bubble gun that I have come to despise in the last couple of days .

We put the Easter bubble bath bubbles to good use and actually ate dinner at the table, which never happens. I'd say it was a pretty good day all together.

easter part 1

Sorry I have been missing the past week.. my son has been the crankiest kid on earth, and I have yet to figure out why. I hope it ends soon though, I am exhausted!

Anyways, our Easter was awesome! The only thing that I wish we had made it to was church.. but there was no way I could have been up and ready for the early service. I figured watching it online would have to work. Besides Logan's constant fussing, the day was pretty good for us.

(there's proof that Logan was fussy^)

Logan missed doing the Easter egg hunt due to napping, but I enjoyed watching the other kids run around, hunting all the eggs, and I know Mike had fun hiding the eggs, although I'm sure he would have preferred to hide them harder. After, the kids decided to dip their feet in the pool, which we should have realized that they were going to end up all the way end. All I can say is that those kids are BRAVE! The water was freezing.

Thank you to my amazing friends for being so thoughtful, and saving eggs so that we could let him do and egg search after his nap. He was determined to open every single egg before they went in the basket, so it took us awhile. Probably a good thing he didn't hunt with the kids, he would have ended up with like 2 eggs.

(I'm pretty sure we all felt like this at the end of the day^)

I am so blessed, and I kept in mind all day the true reason we celebrated. I hope everyone else did too.

"Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him."
