big news

Over the Christmas holidays, we shared with our family and friends that we are expecting baby number two! We announced with a photo we had taken, but I want to go ahead and share some more from the photo-shoot.

We are so excited for our new addition! Logan is starting to get used to the idea of a baby in my belly, and has started insisting on kissing it, and telling the baby night-night. He also makes sure that if he gives my belly a kiss, daddy needs to also.. its pretty adorable. If he is in the mood to discuss the baby (because honestly, he has his moments where a baby isn't his favorite topic) we ask him what he wants.. brother or sister. His typical response is "sisser" and there's no changing his mind.

We got to see our little baby on ultrasound a few weeks ago, and my next ultrasound might reveal what we are having.. you never know! Everything looks good so far, which makes me super excited! I've even had a pretty decent first trimester, with a minimum amount of nausea. I can admit though, that I have a shorter fuse, and the littlest things can make me angry, and just like with Logan, I could sleep for days, and still be tired. But no complaints here, I know it could be so much worse.

Say Hi to our newest family member!

logan's 2nd birthday

One of the major things I missed sharing was Logan turning 2.. which I'm really disappointed in myself for not at least posting the pictures. It was a lot of fun, and I know there are probably a million things that happened that day that I would have loved to share, but can't remember now. I'm at least happy that I got a ton of pictures that I can share now, even if it has been a few months..

At the time, Logan was obsessed with the movie "How To Train Your Dragon" which meant that was the type of party we had to through. Let me tell you, it wasn't easy.. I tend to pick themes that aren't really popular.. Oh well, we managed to get by. Viking hats, and swords as the kids goody bags, a Toothless pinata (toothless is the dragon from the movie), some dragons around the house, and a big bouncy house was enough to satisfy our two-year-old.

Logan had us relight his candles at least 10 times.. guess he had a lot of wishes

this is Toothless

We kept the party pretty small, which made it much more laid back and enjoyable. We ended up getting to keep the bounce house for the whole weekend, which was probably Logan's favorite part of the entire weekend.. Hours and hours of jumping, and lots of memories.

wellllll...

I know, I know.. Its been so long that I am almost embarrassed . I'm not going to lie.. the last few months have been pretty insane. Mike and I hit a rough patch, and learned that we are both human, we both make mistakes, and that we both love each other so much, and managed to make it through a tough time. And let me tell you, just because things aren't going right, life doesn't care.. it still goes on whether you are ready for it to or not.

On top of our love lives getting a little bumpy, my work life has also become a little hectic. By the time I get home almost every night, its time to get Logan fed and in bed, which has taken a major toll on me as a mommy. I come home so tired and worn out from the day, that all I want to do is sit and relax.. and my two-year-old just wants my attention. It kills me every day to think I'm not being the mommy he needs. But then he has his moments where he runs to hug me, kiss me, and ask me to "cuddle, cuddle, cuddle mama" and I feel better. I know being a stay at home mom has its downsides sometimes, but I have to give props to all those moms that work full-time with young ones.. its definitely a battle.

Anyways, enough excuses as to why I haven't blogged.. I know its late, but my only resolution this year was to keep up with my blog, and so here I am, attempting to actually do my resolution. (lets be honest, not many people do..) Instead of making one big blog post of everything we've been doing the last few months, I figured I'd break it up into a few different ones. Even though I haven't blogged doesn't mean I haven't taken pictures. We got a new camera, so naturally, I couldn't resist the urge to snap some photos.

I just want to say thank you to the family and friends who were patient with Mike and I while we worked everything out, and I am sorry for putting everyone through the stress. I wish that I could take everything back, and that I could take away all of the hurt that was caused during that time. Guess people don't lie when they say that marriage is tough.

for logan..
Baby, I am sorry you had to deal with mommy and daddy fighting, and although I know you won't remember any of it, I will, and nothing makes me feel worse than thinking that you might have been hurt somehow in all of it. We love you baby boy, and we promise to do our best for you.

for mike..
I am beyond sorry for everything, and I promise to do my best as your wife to make sure you know how much I love you, and how much you mean to me. Thank you for fighting so hard, and for your help to bring us back together. I love you with all of my heart.

hawaii part 3

Remember how I said the island was beautiful, and we went around more than once.. Well the only way to travel around it, in my opinion, is by moped. Seriously, moped. Driving around, breeze in your hair, sun shining, huge mountains on one side of you, and the bluest water you've ever seen on the other side? Yeah, like I said, best way around the island.

Just breathtaking, and so blue! These photos are straight from the camera. ^

We marked a little spot on our map that was for hiking to a waterfall, and managed to actually make it to the waterfall. What our map didn't tell us was that the trail was pure mud, and basically a death trap! Just kidding, it wasn't that bad, just totally unexpected.

It was cold, and so refreshing after the hike up there. And very pretty! Mike was to chicken to get in since it was so cold. I did, however, and I even jumped off the cliff into it.

hawaii part 2

I don't know about the other islands, but on Oahu, all the hotels are in one central place, Waikiki.. In Waikiki, it is so touristy, and so built up, that it's almost like you are in LA. Don't get me wrong, it is still nice. There is a still a great beach right outside of your hotel, and you still get a somewhat island feeling.. It's just not really what you think of when you think of Hawaii. We wanted to see more of the island, and get away from that craziness, so we did.. a few times.

The other side of Oahu is gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! Pictures do absolutely no justice!

We did one tour around the island, and maybe it would have been better if it wasn't raining, maybe not.. but it did help us decide on the places we wanted to go back and see on a prettier day. For future reference, tour guides are unnecessary.. It was really just a waste of money.

You know that scene from 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' where Mila Kunis jumps off the cliff, and then yells back about being able to see they guys who-ha? Yeah, that's the same spot we are standing in... ^^ Pretty cool! I will say that those people who jumped there are BRAVE.

We didn't originally plan to go to the Dole Plantation, it was just part of the tour. We didn't stay long, so I can't really comment on it, besides to say that there is a maze there that is fun. I will say, however, that the pineapple all over the island is so good and fresh, and I assume it comes from there. Seriously though, pineapple comes with every meal, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.. even at McDonalds.

Of course we  HAD to visit Pearl Harbor, no if's and's or but's about it.. but we didn't get to see the USS Arizona Memorial! (for those who aren't familiar, the USS Arizona Memorial is the one that is still underwater, where thousands of sailors and marines were trapped and killed during the attack on Pearl Harbor) I was so disappointed, but the tickets for that are sold out for months, and I didn't realize that when I booked our trip.  We did get to go on the battleship and submarine though, and that was neat to see. It's amazing to walk through and think about how much history took place where you are standing.

Of course we can't go anywhere without Mike making friends. He sat and fed those birds for probably an hour. ^

We also went to the museum part of pearl harbor, but really it's nothing like actually walking onto the battleship and submarine. It really is an amazing thing to see.
